A kaleidoscope is a traditional toy, the design of which is based on nature, physics, and basic mathematical principals of symmetry. To operate a standard kaleidoscope, the user must hold the object to the eye, look towards light, and turn the barrel or end ring with the other hand. What s/he sees are spinning, multiple reflections of color and light.
In this digital version, Kaleidoskins, the same elements of eye + hand + light are in play. But here a computer and software act as the barrel, lenses, and mirrors, and images of Skin rather than glass shards reflect light to your Eye and Mind.
Try it:
Simply choose a lens from the column of icons to the left and then select a Skin Sample from the column of options that will appear to the right. Your Kaleidoskin will then appear in the middle of the screen and automatically begin to play.
Note: Kaleidoskins requires the latest version of Flash Player »
